RSSLite
A perl module that parses dirty XML from content syndicators.
Get some content from
XMLTree,
preferably in
OCS format,
then parse it with
RSSLite.
LLMS
I built the
Lazy LFS Make System
to help automate the (re-)build
of my own linux distro. LFS stands
for Linux From Scratch. Many
thanks to Gerard Beekmans
for creating this fine work!

Welcome! If you run Linux servers, you need the information on these pages.
Check out the Guides.
This is what it takes to make a shrink-wrapped
linux distribution
secure, fast, and reliable.

Survey. Let me know which Industrial Linux features are
most important to you by completing this
survey.
Sourceforge. Industrial Linux
development
is now powered by SourceForge.
They really do a great job providing development services
so we can concentrate on the real work instead of building
infrastructure.
Milestone. After much head-bashing, I finally managed to
create an IL Bootdisk. Version 0.01 of the Industrial Linux distro
should be available in several weeks... getting the installer built
had to come first. It's my intention that this will be an internet
installer. For the curious: there's a big difference between
rdev -R and rdev -r.

Downloads. I've started a page for
downloads. The first addition is
Sergey Ostrovsky's patch to lilo-21.6 so that it works with
glibc-2.2 and reiserfs.
[2000-11-12]
Hooray! I've finally added a page describing my plans for the
Industrial Linux distribution. Many people have
asked me "Why are you doing this? Are you starting a business?".
Here's the answer.
I've added a link for my
MLUG presentations to
the menu on the left. You can see what I've had to say about Apache,
Top 5 security tips, packet filtering, and more.
For those who simply must know, the pgcc optimization settings are now
documented here.

I've just finished a complete technical re-write of the site in order to better prepare it
for the Industrial Linux distro I'm busy working on. In addition to exposing
RSSLite and LLMS to the world, I have created
several new mailing lists for the purpose of discussing the distro. You can subscribe to them
by simply sending an empty email to:
[old promises yet to be kept]
I've been threatening to make yet another firewall builder someday. I haven't finished it yet.
Until I do, you might want to check out
this collection from Linux Start to satisfy your firewall craving.
Here's a list of things to come, in more or less the order you can expect them:
- An industrial linux distribution that's "hardened"
right out of box (penguin- flavored OpenBSD). I'm making great
progress on this thanks to
Gerard at LFS!
- "Box sets" for all the doc, downloads, and links
for essential components like the linux kernel, named, apache, etc.
- Netfilter firewall builder
